On 25 and 26 November 2013, the Region of Tuscany organized the Marie Curie Actions: on the last lap to Horizon 2020 conference in Florence, Italy. The ITaRS fellow Pilar Gumà Claramunt (ESR3) attended this event, where Horizon 2020 and the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions programme as well as their important implications on the European research centers, industries and universities that collaborate and cooperate under the Marie Curie programme were presented. Horizon 2020 starts on 1st January, 2014 and its programme is structured in three main pillars: Excellent Science, Industrial Leadership and Societal Challenges. The Marie Sklodowska-Curie programme represents a very good opportunity to train and develop the mobility and the carrier of researchers.
